Who we are
We are an Ottawa/Gatineau food start-up dedicated to bring Japanese convenience food to the local market.
Inspired by this simple and delicious snack popular in Japanese convenience stores, we produce fresh, individually packed onigiri every day and deliver them to cafés, shops, and local partners.
We aspire to create a brand that values the quality, freshness and accessibility of our products and to offer varied and inspiring options respecting culinary traditions and exploring creative fusions. We aim to be the reference for Japanese food lovers and consumers looking for quick, healthy and delicious meals.
Our story
The idea for OneIGIRI or Two began during a trip to Japan in March 2024.That's when we discovered and fell in love with onigiri, a simple, affordable, yet incredibly delicious food. What amazed us most was the convenience of being able to purchase onigiri at any time of day in corner stores like 7-Eleven, FamilyMart and Lawson. Whether it was a quick snack between temple visits or a meal after a long day of sightseeing, onigiri became our go-to option. Not only was it convenient, but it also helped us save money while traveling.
Once we returned back to Canada, we found ourselves craving onigiri and realized that many travelers likely felt the same. We began to wonder: why weren’t onigiri readily available on store shelves here? The absence of an answer sparked the idea to create our own company, a brand that would bring the convenience, taste, and cultural experience of onigiri to our local market.
Our mission
At OneIGIRI or Two, our mission is to offer the possibility of tasting a unique Japanese product right here at home. By making fresh, authentic onigiri readily available in local shops, we bring the flavours and convenience of Japan’s iconic snack to your neighborhood. We aim to partner with your favorite local shops to offer the possibility of finding fresh onigiris right around the corner, available at any time of the day, just like how you would experience it in Japan.
